I Won't Die for Love

At eighteen, Claudia doesn't want to be a heroine. Yet, her mother’s Alzheimer’s diagnosis strikes like a silent storm, forcing a long-disconnected family to redefine their roles. Torn between care and youth, Claudia navigates this new reality, transforming family bonds. Through a semi-autobiographical lens, director Marta Matute explores the tug-of-war young people face between reality and selfhood, supporting those who care for loved ones—especially young caregivers forced to grow up overnight and sacrifice their youth for love.
