In Tokyo in 2047, players of the virtual combat game Brain Burst battle in a world running thousands of times faster than reality. During a territorial clash in Shibuya, a huge black tornado abruptly severs their connections. With acceleration no longer possible in the storm-bound area, members of the Black Nebula legion set out to investigate.
