THE SCREENX EXPERIENCE

Let the scene surround you.

SCREENX uses the sides of the auditorium to widen your view. The key is knowing when the panorama appears and choosing the right version.

Desert scenery projected across three cinema walls

01 / PANORAMA

A view beyond the front wall.

SCREENX, developed by CJ 4DPLEX, extends the image onto the left and right walls for a 270-degree panorama. The extra imagery adds surroundings to the central action, bringing a landscape or a chase into your peripheral view.

02 / SEQUENCES

The panorama follows the film.

The amount of side-wall footage varies by film. Do not expect every scene to use all three surfaces: a screening can move between the front screen and an expanded view. Check the film’s SCREENX information if the duration matters to you.

Plan a SCREENX visit

Choose the SCREENX version

A film may also have standard screenings at the same cinema. Confirm SCREENX on the session you select.

Look at the seating plan

Consider your view of both side walls as well as the front screen. Ask the cinema about sightlines and accessible seating if needed.

Check language and price

Open a matching film for showtimes, then confirm subtitles, ticket price and available seats with the operator.

GOOD TO KNOW

SCREENX questions, answered.

What is SCREENX?

It is a panoramic cinema format that extends selected imagery from the front screen onto the auditorium’s side walls, creating a 270-degree view.

Is the whole film shown across three screens?

Not necessarily. The duration of panoramic projection varies with the release. Check information about the specific film rather than assuming it runs throughout.

How is SCREENX different from 4DX?

SCREENX extends the picture onto side walls. 4DX adds moving seats and environmental effects. A SCREENX label alone does not indicate motion seats.

Is SCREENX the same as 3D?

No. SCREENX describes the panoramic projection layout; 3D describes visual depth. Read the selected session’s version to see whether it is 2D or 3D.

Where can I find SCREENX showtimes in Hong Kong?

The lists above show matching films and cinemas from our current catalogue. Open a film for sessions and booking links. If nothing matches, try another date or check the operator’s latest programme.
